Meet Murray Hunt

Managing Director

MAES, IEEE
Australia and New Zealand

It is likely that the gift of a soldering iron at the age of 7 years precipitated a lifelong love with the engineering of Electronics and especially Audio with a good deal of RF and Video included.

The original ideas for AVW back in 1982 were put into practice by Murray when he officially formed the company in 1983 and since the founding days, Murray has directed the company on a path of achieving excellence in Engineering, Customer Service and Solutions delivery.

The early days of government restrictions on trade in imports and the drive for local manufacturing called for constantly evolving and often innovative solutions to issues facing the business of the Audio, Video and RF industries, industry segments that along with the exponential growth in IT and RF and satellite communications; the company remain involved in today. The company continues its successful growth through acquisitions and partnerships.

Originally as a solution provider and integrator Murray and his team continue to steer the company through constant evolution in business, system integration, manufacturing, distribution and service provision.

Murray obtained his professional qualifications following a period of tertiary study and practical on-the-tools experience and has maintained a regime of professional development in the management and engineering fields.

A committed advocate of industry-based and tertiary study, Murray, a long-term member of the AES, has proposed and founded industry associations for the continuation of research, knowledge and training.

Murray travels extensively; locally, between AVW’s offices and internationally to meet with AVW’s customers and partners.
